The Giver

Authors Note: This is about a book I read a couple weeks ago. The title is The Giver, By Louis Lowry. It is the conflicts and resolutions of the book.

In the book Giver  Jonas's community is all the same. They have a sameness. Their are just a select few that look different. But since they don't see color it is harder to tell. Most peoples eyes are dark, for a brown color. Jonas and the other few are light, for a blue color. In this community this is a HUGE difference. These people who are different from all the others are usually the ones chosen to be the new givers when they get their assignments. Jonas gets the assignment of being the giver. Here he learns that his job isn't all that. For every good there is a bad. He knows all, he gets all the memories. But he must go through pain and suffer. He can see whatever he wants in the community, but he knows all peoples secrets and what they do. Jonas doesn't think it is fair that one single person has to take in all the memories. He thinks that everyone in the community should have memories. Both good and bad. To do this he must leave the community so the memories he has go free and to other members of the community.

The Conflict in the book is Jonas knowing all these feelings that no ones else knows. He wants to find a way so that everyone can feel all these different emotions. The resolution is Jonas makes a plan to leave the community, by doing this he will then leave the memories to all the people of the community. He wants his community to not be in sameness and have differences.
